Stepping Forward to Improve the Environment

1. City Wide Clean-up (Los Angeles Downtown and Midtown)

Many people believe that beautifying Los Angeles is an urgent need; however, the truth is that many do not take action. We need to take action in improving the city and creating a healthier, safer living environment, and PAVA is leading the way.

2. Griffith Park Clean-up (At the Griffith Park Bird Sanctuary, 2nd Saturday of April)

Griffith Park, the most beloved of Los Angeles' parks, has been damaged by recent fires and floods. The recent fires have destroyed much of the wooded areas and floods have swept up much of the damaged vegetation, leaving an unsightly picture of pipe lines in their wake.

3. Los Angeles river Clean-up (2nd Saturday of June)

The Los Angeles River has played a crucial part in making Los Angeles one of America's Signature cities. In the past, people often came to the river for recreation and even to drink its water. However, the Los Angeles River has been polluted and has all but been abandoned. PAVA has taken charge to help clean the Los Angeles River for the past eight years, and approximately four to five thousand of Los Angeles' citizens have shown up to each of these annual Clean-Ups to take up responsibility through their actions.

4. Hollywood Citi Wide Clean-up (2nd Saturday of July)

Hollywood represents Los Angeles. When people from other parts of the world think of Los Angeles, they think of hollywood and the Hollywood sign. Therefore PAVA is taking lead in keeping this city clean not only to maintain its glamour but also to protect its living environment.

5. Coastal Clean Up (Third Saturday of September)

This international coastal cleanup is also very important for PAVA. People who are in love with the beach have taken pride in actively participating in this Clean-Up. Each year, thousands of volunteers take a stand to love and protect our beloved ocean.
